Beloved represented what might be seen as a taboo subject to talk about to other people. A family who loses a daughter at a young age and has her come back as a spirit or embodiment of the sixty million or all the children lost. She comes back as the age she would probably been or lived to. The sixty million lost is all those who died because of slavery. I think sometimes we have to ask questions that we think shouldn't be asked. Subjects like Beloved are good to talk about and analyze because they are based on true events. I think we tend to relate better to stories about someone or a group of people suffering. It is human nature to care about those who suffered even though we can not expreienece the same things they went through.
